South Africa has approved authorization to import various mango types from India, according to an official from India's farm export authority.
Simmi Unnikrishnan, Assistant General Manager of India's Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), made the news at the 'Bharat Mango Utsav 2024' event held at the Indian Consulate here last week.
Addressing local traders and the media, she stated, "We gained market access for mangoes last year and have now sent 1.5 metric tonnes of mangoes from Gujarat to India.
Guests at the event had the opportunity to try numerous species of Indian mangoes brought in just for the occasion, including Alfonso, renowned as the king of mangoes, Totapuri, Rajapuri, Badami, Kesar, and Neelam. Also read: How to Export Mango from India?
