Export Import Data

According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, China imported 355.9 billion integrated circuits (IC) units from January to September, down from 416.7 billion during the same time in 2017. IC imports decreased in value overall by 19.8% to USD 252.9 billion, as per export import data

The report also noted that "the year's IC import trend for China shows a modest improvement over the past few months."

GPU sales are expanding quickly as a result of China's massive demand for cutting-edge semiconductors to power new artificial intelligence (AI) development projects.

Imports of chips decreased when the Joe Biden administration tightened export regulations. In an apparent effort to halt Beijing's technical advancements, the US established a set of regulations in October of last year that limit exports of specific materials and equipment for advanced semiconductor fabrication to businesses in China.
